Mike-Williams-1024x683

Mike Williams, after a touchdown-less tenure with the New York Jets, made an immediate impact in his first game with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10, securing one reception for 32 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Washington Commanders. The Jets, unable to make the most of Williams’ talents alongside star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, traded him to the Steelers ahead of the NFL trade deadline. This move came after the Jets had added wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Tensions between Rodgers and Williams were noticeable, particularly due to some key drops by Williams during games, which seemed to frustrate Rodgers. Despite this, Rodgers has publicly denied any bad blood and wished his former teammate well in Pittsburgh. When questioned about Williams’ Instagram antics, Rodgers simply said, “I like Mike, I’m happy for Mike.”

With the Jets now fighting for playoff hopes and the Steelers looking like a strong Super Bowl contender, it’s clear that both teams are headed in different directions. While it’s still unknown if Williams will have long-term success in Pittsburgh, his situation appears much improved compared to the struggles the Jets face as the 2024 season unfolds.
