Morgan Rogers, who began his career in West Brom’s youth academy before stints at Manchester City and Middlesbrough, has quickly established himself at Aston Villa since joining in January. The 21-year-old forward, signed for an initial £8 million fee that could rise to £15 million, has been a standout performer in the Premier League.
Rogers netted his first goal for Villa in April and has contributed three goals and three assists so far this season. His strong form earned him a call-up to the England senior squad, filling in after several withdrawals.
The young forward made his England debut as a substitute in matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland. To cap an already significant week, Rogers signed a contract extension, committing his future to Aston Villa until 2030.
Villa manager Unai Emery had previously voiced his disappointment over Rogers’ absence from the national team, but the player now hopes to secure a permanent spot in the England setup.
Reflecting on his international debut, Rogers described the experience as a dream fulfilled. “It’s a massive achievement for me,” he said. “I’ve been smiling all week. I always feel ready for any opportunity, and this was no different. Now, I aim to keep proving myself at my club to earn another call-up and continue this journey.”
