Abdul Fatawu will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious ACL injury, Leicester City manager Steve Cooper confirmed on Thursday. The 20-year-old winger sustained the injury while representing Ghana in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola last week. Cooper expressed his disappointment, acknowledging that while ACL injuries are relatively common in football, it remains a major setback, especially for a young player like Fatawu.

“It’s a significant blow for him and for us,” Cooper said. Fatawu has made 56 appearances for Leicester, scoring seven goals and providing 15 assists. The team currently sits 15th in the Premier League with 10 points from 11 matches.
