Sean Dyche celebrated Everton’s 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers as a turning point in their goal-scoring struggles. The Blues secured their third win of the Premier League season, marking their first goals since October, with all four coming from set-pieces. Despite having two goals disallowed and several missed opportunities, including a number of chances by Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen, Everton displayed a more clinical edge in attack.

Dyche made several tactical changes to his lineup, shifting Iliman Ndiaye to the right, Dwight McNeil to the left, and moving Abdoulaye Doucoure into a central attacking role. These adjustments, he explained, were part of a strategy to improve both offensive and defensive balance.

The manager was keen to highlight the message he had given to his players ahead of the match. He said, “We found a good balance today, which isn’t always easy, but I was really happy with the commitment to score. The body language was positive, the players were getting into the box, and the set-piece delivery was excellent. We also created other chances, which is something we’ve struggled with.”

Dyche also emphasized the importance of mindset, reminding the players of their proven goal-scoring ability. “I told them, ‘You’ve got goals in you. Don’t overthink it, just focus on getting in the box and being aggressive. Forget about the crowd or the opposition. Play with confidence, and go for it.’ I was pleased with how they responded.”
