Diontae Johnson is on the move after being claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans on Monday, according to ESPN’s Ian Rapoport. This comes after a tumultuous week for the wide receiver, who was cut by the Baltimore Ravens following a suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team.” Johnson had been benched in Week 13 for refusing to take the field, and after missing practice ahead of the Ravens’ 34-17 victory over the Steelers, he was released.

The Texans are hoping Johnson can help fill the void left by rookie receiver Tank Dell, who was lost for the season due to a dislocated knee sustained in Sunday’s 27-19 defeat to the Chiefs. Dell had emerged as a key target for Houston, making his injury a significant blow to their playoff hopes. With Stefon Diggs also out for the year after suffering an ACL injury, the Texans were in dire need of wide receiver reinforcements, making Johnson a logical addition as they push for a postseason berth.
