Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams didn’t hold back when discussing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers following his team’s 26-21 win in Week 13. Williams, who began his NFL career with the Jets, offered a blunt assessment of Rodgers’ performance, suggesting that the 41-year-old quarterback is relying more on quick throws to avoid taking hits as he ages.

In a post-game interview, Williams remarked that Rodgers’ physical decline has become evident this season. While Rodgers has thrown for 2,627 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions through 12 games, his play has lacked the mobility and deep-ball accuracy he once possessed. Williams pointed to a particular play during the game, where Rodgers overthrew a wide-open Garrett Wilson in the end zone, as a sign of Rodgers’ struggle. “I think he’s an older guy now, and when he feels pressure, he’s just trying to get rid of the ball quickly to avoid a big hit,” Williams explained.

The Seahawks defensive lineman’s comments were underscored by his own strong performance on the field. Williams had a memorable moment in the second quarter when he intercepted Rodgers for a 92-yard touchdown, cutting Seattle’s deficit to just seven points. In addition to the pick-six, Williams also recorded four tackles and two sacks, showcasing his dominance throughout the game.

With the win, the Seahawks improved to 7-5, while the Jets, who are now 3-9, continue to struggle. Looking ahead, Seattle’s remaining schedule includes matchups against the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles Rams. The Jets, on the other hand, face a challenging finish with games against the Miami Dolphins (twice), Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Buffalo Bills.
