Jose Mourinho is reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation at West Ham, with sources suggesting he would be highly interested in becoming the club’s next manager if the opportunity arises. According to Mick Brown, a former scout for the Hammers, Mourinho is “very interested” in the role, should it become available, as he remains connected to the club and its inner workings. Brown, who left West Ham in June, added that the Portuguese coach still owns a property in London, making a return to the English capital more feasible.

Mourinho has previously expressed his desire to return to Premier League management, particularly after his recent stint with Fenerbahçe, and has a strong history in England with Chelsea and Tottenham. However, Brown cautioned that West Ham’s board might be hesitant to appoint him, fearing his strong personality and unwillingness to tolerate the same pressures and circumstances that have led to the departures of other recent managers.

The club is reportedly considering alternatives as fan frustration with Julen Lopetegui grows, prompting speculation about a possible managerial change. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Lopetegui’s future, Brown believes Mourinho would be eager to take the job if it becomes available, especially given his ongoing ties to London. However, he also noted that West Ham’s leadership might be wary of the challenges Mourinho’s assertive style could bring, potentially deterring them from offering him the role.
