Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly set their sights on Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán as part of their efforts to strengthen their forward line. The Colombian has been in sensational form this season, scoring 12 goals despite starting only six matches, with half of those goals coming off the bench. Durán’s impressive performances have earned him a starting role under Unai Emery, even edging out Ollie Watkins in the process. His latest goal came in Villa’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City, where he opened the scoring.

According to Fichajes, PSG have opened talks with Villa over a potential transfer that could involve a swap deal plus cash. The French champions are said to be offering Randal Kolo Muani, the striker they signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for €80 million last summer. However, the French forward has struggled to find form in Paris. After a relatively quiet first season with PSG, in which he netted nine goals and provided six assists in 40 appearances, Kolo Muani has continued to underperform this season with just two goals and one assist. He has also been dropped from PSG’s starting lineup in favor of Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos, which has led to speculation that his time in Paris may be nearing its end.

While PSG are eager to offload Kolo Muani and bring in Durán, Villa’s stance is likely to be more cautious. Durán, who signed a long-term contract extension with Villa in October, committing to the club until 2030, has shown significant potential, making him a valuable asset. Given his impressive form and long-term commitment, Villa are unlikely to entertain a simple player swap, especially given Kolo Muani’s underwhelming performances at PSG. Villa’s sporting director, Monchi, is expected to demand a significant financial package in addition to any player exchange.

Both clubs are reportedly continuing to assess the situation, with Villa considering whether Kolo Muani would fit into their tactical setup, while PSG hope to secure the young Colombian talent to enhance their attacking options.
