Cole Palmer was the hero for Chelsea once again, leading them to a thrilling 4-3 win over Tottenham in the Premier League. Despite a rocky start, with Marc Cucurella at fault for two early goals, Palmer’s brilliance turned the tide. The England international netted twice and provided an assist, ensuring Chelsea secured three points and stayed in second place, just four points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

One of Palmer’s standout moments came when he calmly slotted in a Panenka penalty past Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster. Reflecting on the audacious strike, Palmer explained to Sky Sports: “When I stepped back and saw how frantic the game was, I noticed the keeper was about to dive, so I chipped it. I was just trying to score, and thankfully it went in.”

The victory underscored Chelsea’s growing strength under manager Enzo Maresca. Since taking over in the summer, the Italian coach has breathed new life into the team, guiding them to an impressive start to the season. Chelsea are now second in the table, ahead of Arsenal by two points following the Gunners’ 1-1 draw against Fulham.

After conceding early, Chelsea recovered to dominate the match. Both Enzo Fernandez and Jadon Sancho were also on the scoresheet, continuing their strong individual performances. Palmer has now scored 11 goals and registered six assists in 15 Premier League games this season, maintaining his fine form from the previous campaign. Chelsea’s position as second-place challengers to Liverpool highlights the strides they’ve made under Maresca, making them one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
