Newcastle United have shifted their focus to Alexander Isak’s contract negotiations after securing Anthony Gordon’s future with a six-year extension. Gordon, at 23, has shown significant progress since joining the club, and Newcastle is confident that his development will continue.
Following the long-term deals signed by Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes, the club now aims to secure a similar commitment from Isak. However, negotiations with the 25-year-old striker have been ongoing for some time, raising concerns about why an agreement hasn’t been finalized yet. It’s been reported that Isak is interested in having a release clause included in his contract, much like Guimaraes, though Gordon’s new deal doesn’t appear to have one.
Now that Gordon’s contract is settled, Newcastle is looking to speed up talks with Isak. According to iNews the Swedish forward is eager to stay at the club, which is encouraging for both sides. However, Newcastle will need to put forward an offer that reflects Isak’s importance to the team.
TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, speaking with Geordie Boot Boys, noted that Isak’s contract discussions have hit a standstill. The reasons for the delay remain unclear, but it’s speculated that his current wages may be lower compared to those of Gordon and Guimaraes. Bailey also mentioned that while there was interest from major clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as other European teams, concerns about Isak’s injury record may have deterred some suitors. Despite these obstacles, Newcastle remains confident they can finalize a deal before January.
Securing Isak’s long-term future, alongside Gordon and Bruno, would be a crucial step in Newcastle’s ambition to solidify their core group of key players. Given Isak’s talent and potential, it’s essential that Newcastle offer a contract that accurately reflects his value to the club.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to understand
so much about this, such as you wrote the guide in it or something.
I think that you could do with some p.c. to power the

is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
