James Tarkowski is confident that Everton can secure a positive result in their upcoming match against Manchester City, buoyed by recent strong performances against high-ranking teams.

The Toffees have impressed with back-to-back goalless draws against Arsenal and Chelsea, marking five clean sheets in their last six games. Over their past 12 matches, they’ve only suffered two defeats. Tarkowski believes it’s their own form, rather than Manchester City’s recent struggles, that gives them the belief they can challenge at the Etihad. Despite a limited number of victories this season and ongoing goal-scoring issues, Tarkowski feels Everton is in a good place heading into the match.

“I always approach games with confidence,” Tarkowski said. “Going to places like this is tough, and while there’s been talk about City’s form, I still see a team brimming with quality players. They’re a top side, and even though people might question them now, we’re heading there with full belief that we can get a result.”

He further emphasized Everton’s strong position. “We’re in good form, having lost only a few in the last 12 or 13 games. The mood is positive, and with key players returning from injury, the squad is feeling strong.”

Looking ahead to the packed fixture list, Tarkowski noted the importance of squad depth: “There are plenty of games coming up, and we’ll need everyone. Thankfully, we have a strong squad ready to step in.”
