FIFA has finalized a landmark deal with DAZN, the British streaming service, to broadcast the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States. As part of the agreement, all 63 matches will be streamed for free worldwide on DAZN’s platform, with a deal valued at approximately $1 billion. The deal is also expected to include sub-licensing agreements with local networks for regional coverage.
FIFA had initially faced challenges in selling the broadcasting rights for the tournament, even holding discussions with Apple about a potential global streaming deal. However, FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating that the collaboration with DAZN and FIFA+ would make the tournament accessible to fans everywhere. He emphasized that the new format, featuring 32 teams, would showcase the best of club football and crown the first-ever ‘FIFA Club World Champions.’
Shay Segev, DAZN’s CEO, called the deal a major achievement for the platform, marking a significant step in expanding its global reach.
The 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled to begin on June 15 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with the final taking place on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New York. The tournament will feature 32 teams from around the world, including high-profile clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Inter Miami. The official tournament draw will take place in Miami on Thursday at 6 p.m.
