Newcastle United has teamed up with North Shields musician Sam Fender for a unique twist on their classic black-and-white kits, which will be worn during their match against Brentford. The shirts will feature “Sam Fender: People Watching” on the back, the title of his highly anticipated album set for release in February 2025. Fender, who recently canceled his remaining 2024 concerts due to vocal cord issues, is set to headline three sold-out shows at St James’ Park in 2025.
Fender, who performed two successful gigs at the stadium last year, will return to the home of his childhood club, with over 150,000 tickets already sold for next year’s concerts. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the match-worn shirts, which will display the artwork from his upcoming album. All funds raised from the auction will go to the Newcastle United Foundation.
Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer at the club, emphasized the strong partnership between Newcastle United, Sam Fender, and the Foundation when announcing the one-off shirts. He commented: “Both Newcastle United and Sam Fender are proud representatives of our region, and together, we reach audiences all over the world.”
