Leicester City suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, a result that leaves them perilously close to the relegation zone. Interim manager Ben Dawson, who stepped in following Steve Cooper’s departure, saw his team display a lack of cohesion and composure throughout the match.
One of the most disappointing performers was James Justin, whose struggles epitomized Leicester’s overall poor showing. The full-back had a disastrous performance, failing to make an impact at either end of the pitch, and was widely criticized for what was arguably one of his worst outings in a Leicester shirt. His display has put the incoming manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy, in a difficult position, with the Dutchman now facing the crucial decision of whether Justin should remain in the starting lineup.
Justin’s defensive errors were particularly costly, with both of Brentford’s first-half goals coming down Leicester’s right side. His poor positioning allowed the opposition to exploit space, leaving him exposed in a match that saw Leicester lose control. Josh Barker of Leicester City News gave Justin a dismal 2/10 rating, emphasizing that Van Nistelrooy would be far from impressed: “Terrible yet again, with both of Brentford’s goals in the first half coming down Leicester’s right.”
In addition to his defensive lapses, Justin struggled on the ball, completing just 68% of his passes and offering little in terms of progressive play. His solitary pass into the final third showed how ineffective he was in contributing to Leicester’s build-up.
Although Justin has been a mainstay in the starting XI this season, and even earned praise for his brace against Arsenal, his recent performances have raised serious concerns. After lackluster displays against Chelsea and Manchester United, Justin will need to improve quickly to convince Van Nistelrooy that he deserves to retain his place in the team.
Leicester city players had no respect for the city manager and one player doest’t make a team. Hopefully the complete city squad gets put on the transfer list but nobody will buy flops.
