Leeds United comfortably defeated Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, moving up to second in the Championship. Daniel Farke’s team took charge early on, with a dominant first half that ended 3-0 in their favor at Elland Road. Despite no additional goals after halftime, Leeds’ control over the game was never in question.
Plymouth, led by Wayne Rooney, came prepared with a defensive setup, but they struggled to keep Leeds at bay. Farke’s side broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Dan James unleashed a stunning 25-yard shot into the top corner. Within minutes, Joel Piroe added a second, and Brenden Aaronson sealed the half with a composed finish for the third.
In the closing stages, Leeds introduced youngsters Sam Chambers and Charlie Crew, as well as new signing Joshua Guilavogui, giving the trio their debuts. Despite Plymouth switching to a back-four formation in the second half, they failed to create any offensive threat, unable to register a single shot. Leeds coasted through the final stretch, securing another three points at home in a well-controlled performance.
