Teddy Sheringham has expressed doubts about Nottingham Forest’s ability to maintain a top-four push in the Premier League this season. Although Forest have exceeded expectations by sitting in fifth place after 11 games and securing a notable victory over leaders Liverpool, Sheringham believes they lack the consistency and squad depth needed for a sustained challenge. Despite a strong start, which includes five wins, four draws, and just two losses—on par with teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Brighton—Sheringham predicts that the race for fourth will be highly competitive.
He pointed out that many clubs, including Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Newcastle, will be fighting for the coveted Champions League spot, and the standings will likely fluctuate throughout the season. Sheringham acknowledged that Forest are currently in the mix, but he feels they won’t be able to hold onto their position. In his view, Villa have the edge, citing their superior organization and strength as the key factors that could see them secure fourth place by the end of the season.
