Nottingham Forest has suffered a major blow with the news that midfielder Ibrahim Sangare will be sidelined for at least two months due to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old underwent surgery on Saturday, following an injury sustained before the international break, which was confirmed by medical tests after his return from Ivory Coast duty.

Sangare had started in Forest’s first three Premier League games but missed the 1-0 victory against Liverpool at Anfield, a win that marked the club’s first at the stadium since 1969. Meanwhile, defender Willy Boly was also unavailable due to a calf injury, although he is expected to recover sooner.

This adds to Forest’s ongoing midfield struggles, as Danilo is also out with a broken ankle sustained in the season opener. The club is optimistic that the Brazilian will resume training by December, though his return to playing is likely delayed until the new year.

After the win at Anfield, manager Nuno Espirito Santo commented, “We were without three key players — Boly, Ibrahim, and Danilo. I wish we had everyone available, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. Boly should be back soon, but Ibrahim’s recovery will take longer.”

Substitute Callum Hudson-Odoi netted the match-winning goal, extending Forest’s unbeaten Premier League run to four games.
