Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner feels his team deserved all three points after securing a late equalizer against Newcastle. Despite having 16 shots compared to just one from Newcastle, Palace had to wait until the 94th minute to beat goalkeeper Nick Pope. Glasner’s side created five clear-cut opportunities and largely dominated the match, though they fell behind due to a Marc Guehi own goal against the run of play.
Daniel Munoz scored his first goal for Palace, netting a stoppage-time equalizer that lifted the team out of the relegation zone. Reflecting on the result, Glasner said, “The result doesn’t reflect the performance. We played very well, limiting them to just one shot over the entire game. We deserved more based on how the players performed and the chances we created. Of course, scoring in the 94th minute is something to be happy about, and we are. But it doesn’t feel like a lucky point—it feels more like we dropped two points today.”
