Ruben Amorim praised Rasmus Højlund for his pivotal performance in Manchester United’s 3-2 comeback win over Bodo/Glimt but also urged the striker to refine certain aspects of his play, particularly in terms of his ball control.

Højlund stole the spotlight with two well-taken goals, helping Amorim secure his first victory as head coach. His influence extended beyond scoring, as he played a key role in the opening goal, pressing Bodo/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin into an early error, which led to Alejandro Garnacho’s tap-in.

Despite a challenging start to the season, Højlund’s all-around contribution was a clear highlight. After the match, Amorim took the opportunity to provide constructive feedback on the forward’s performance.

“He’s linking up well with the team,” said Amorim. “But there’s room for improvement. Sometimes he takes too many touches when he holds the ball. In situations where we are defending deep, though, he’s essential for initiating transitions. His aggression in the box is key, and he’s capable of scoring the most difficult goals. Overall, he did a great job today.”
