Due to the extreme weather conditions brought on by Storm Darragh, Saturday’s Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool was postponed just hours before it was set to begin.
The match, originally scheduled to take place at Goodison Park, was meant to be the final Premier League game at the iconic stadium before Everton’s move to a new 52,000-capacity venue at Bramley-Moore Dock next summer.
However, safety concerns prompted the decision to call off the game in light of the dangerous storm conditions.
Everton made the announcement on social media, saying, “The Merseyside derby at Goodison Park today has been postponed due to severe weather. More information will follow.”
