Kieran Trippier is expected to stay with Newcastle United until January, as manager Eddie Howe is reluctant to let him leave without securing a replacement, with the English transfer window now closed, according to Football Insider.

The 33-year-old defender, who joined Newcastle in early 2022 after the club’s takeover, has played 94 matches since his arrival. However, his role in the team has recently diminished, with Tino Livramento now the preferred right-back option. Trippier, who has retired from international duty, has only appeared as a substitute once during the current 2024/25 season.

Despite having nearly two years left on his contract, Trippier’s future at the club is uncertain. It’s been reported that he has requested to leave, and Everton showed interest in a potential loan move, though no agreement was reached.

Although the transfer windows in England and Saudi Arabia have closed, there is still interest in Trippier from Turkish clubs, with their window remaining open until September 13. For now, Howe is determined to keep Trippier, but Newcastle will likely reassess his situation when the January transfer window opens, making a potential exit more likely at that time.
