Unai Emery called on Aston Villa to maintain composure and stay balanced following their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which extended their winless streak to eight matches in all competitions. The Villans were outplayed across all key metrics, with Chelsea dominating the game and securing a comfortable victory.

Emery conceded that Chelsea are currently a superior team, but urged his players to stay focused and not become discouraged, especially with another match coming up in just three days. “The analysis isn’t just about this one game,” Emery explained to Sky Sports. “We’ve been improving steadily since we arrived two years ago, and this match is a good test to gauge where we are against top teams like Chelsea and Liverpool. We’ve known since the start of the season that some teams are stronger than us, and Chelsea is one of them. The key is to stay balanced, avoid frustration, and focus on recovering our confidence in the next game against Brentford.”

Even though Villa haven’t won since October 22, Emery remains firm in his belief in the team’s long-term progress. “We have complete faith in the work we’re doing,” he said. “We’re enjoying our Champions League campaign, and in the league, we’re more or less where we expected to be. Our immediate focus is on Wednesday’s game against Brentford, where we’ll assess our level. There are still plenty of games to come, and we’re committed to building the team and recovering our confidence. We know we can perform better, both as individuals and as a team.”
