West Ham United are reportedly eyeing AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori for a potential January move, with Calciomercato indicating that Milan could lower their original £24 million asking price. The Serie A club is keen to offload the English defender, as manager Paolo Fonseca looks to reshape his squad.
In the summer, West Ham held talks with Milan about both Tomori and Malick Thiaw but ultimately chose to sign Jean-Clair Todibo on loan from Nice. However, after a shaky start to the season, including a heavy 5-2 defeat to Arsenal, the Hammers are now looking to bolster their defensive options in January.
Despite bringing in Max Kilman and Todibo over the summer, West Ham’s defence has still shown signs of vulnerability, making the addition of another centre-back a priority. Tomori, eager to return to the Premier League after three years at Milan, could be drawn to a move back to London. Aston Villa are also reportedly in the running, adding competition for his signature.
Juventus are keeping tabs on the situation as well, which could complicate any potential transfer. However, Tomori’s speed, Champions League pedigree, and Serie A title-winning experience make him an appealing prospect for West Ham. Given Kilman’s struggles to justify his £45 million price tag, a partnership between Tomori and Todibo could provide much-needed stability to the West Ham defence.
