Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira is optimistic that his side will be able to hold on to Matheus Cunha amid growing rumors linking the Brazilian forward with a move to top Premier League clubs. The 25-year-old has been in excellent form this season, scoring 10 goals and contributing 4 assists in 18 Premier League matches. His performance in Wolves’ 2-0 win over Manchester United was particularly impressive, as he both scored and provided an assist, while also completing four successful dribbles and winning four tackles during a standout display.

Cunha’s recent form has caught the attention of both Manchester United and Arsenal, who are reportedly keen on signing him. However, Pereira is determined to keep the versatile attacker at Molineux, emphasizing his importance to the team.

When asked about the potential for Cunha to leave in January, Pereira said, “I hope not, we need him. His quality is vital to us.” The manager’s words underline the significance of Cunha’s contributions, especially as Wolves continue their battle in the Premier League.

Teammate Jorgen Strand Larsen also expressed his admiration for Cunha, describing him as one of the best players he has ever played alongside. “He’s amazing,” Larsen said. “He’s one of the best. I really hope we can keep him around for a long time.”

Despite Wolves’ inconsistent performances this season, Cunha’s individual brilliance has been a bright spot, and the club has now won two consecutive matches against Leicester and Manchester United. With Wolves still fighting against relegation, it seems unlikely that Cunha will be sold in January unless a substantial offer arrives. While he is expected to remain at the club until the end of the season, a potential departure next summer seems more likely, especially given his impressive tally of 26 goals and 13 assists in 75 appearances for Wolves. The forward could well find himself at a bigger club like Manchester United or Arsenal in the 2025-26 season.
